Choosing the right candle wax is the basis of candle making. There’s a whole array of waxes, they differ in their melting points, their characteristics and, last but not least, in whether they’re intended for making candles in containers or in moulds. Depending on the chosen wax, you also need to choose a special wick. You can add various dyes and essences into candle wax. Never melt any wax in a microwave! Never leave a lit candle unattended.
