Reslin® creative kit for making bowls is here for those who would like to try working with Reslin eco-resin. The kit contains everything you need to make 2 bowls from this material. You can happily give these stylish handmade bowls as a gift or use them yourself for storing jewellery, keys or other small items.
Reslin® is the first resin made on a purely plant basis. It is made from linseed oil and a natural activator from sugar beet molasses, and is 100% biodegradable in nature. It contains no toxic substances and is odourless, so it can be worked with bare hands, making it an ideal choice for home and professional use even in the presence of children. Working with this resin does not require protective equipment such as gloves or respirators. It is characterised by a relatively short curing time and is suitable for making decorations, jewellery and functional items. Without the use of dyes and powders it has a natural colouring in golden to brown tones, but retains its translucency just like crystal resin.
Preparing Reslin resin and curing itself take place in the oven at temperatures up to 120 °C. A regular kitchen oven can be safely used for this. First, both components need to be heated for 20 minutes at 60 °C (you can heat the oil and activator directly in their original containers during this step), then mix them together. After pouring into the mould, leave the product at room temperature for approximately 20 minutes. Next comes baking for 20 minutes at 90 °C, followed by a gradual increase in temperature to 120 °C for a further 20 minutes (without removing the product from the oven in between). Never use a microwave oven when working with Reslin.
From the kit you can make 2 bowls, which you can colour with the dyes included in the kit, so you can customise each piece exactly to your liking. If you would like to decorate your creations even more, take a look at the category of Reslin colours, powders and glitter.
Pack contains: 250 g of oil and 125 g of activator (hardener), 6x20 ml of pearlescent mica powder in various colours, 1 silicone mould for a bowl measuring 11x5 cm, gloves, a mixing spatula and instructions (in English, German, Italian, Spanish, French and Dutch).
Even those with no experience with casting resins should easily manage working with this kit.
