Blue feldspar is found at many localities around the world. The most significant deposits, however, are in Chile, Peru, India, Madagascar and the USA.
Synthetic blue feldspar, that is, blue feldspar of laboratory origin, is manufactured artificially from substances used in the production of glass and ceramics. Synthetic blue feldspar thus resembles the natural stone but is much cheaper and easily available. Its properties, if you believe in its power, are not particularly diminished as a result. On the Mohs hardness scale it rates 5.5 to 6.
