In nature, morganite occurs in the form of crystals of various shapes and sizes. These crystals typically have hexagonal shapes with six edges and alternating flat faces. In any case, natural morganite reportedly has very strong properties, which are used in many fields around the world. On the Mohs hardness scale it corresponds to 7.5–8.

The history of morganite dates back to the 20th century, when it was first discovered in California. The original name of morganite was pink beryl, before it was renamed in honour of the famous financial magnate and collector of art and rare gemstones, J. P. Morgan, becoming morganite. Over the years it became a popular and sought-after gemstone.

That in 1989 a morganite crystal weighing over 23 kg and measuring over 30 cm in length was discovered in Brazil? This enormous crystal was a remarkable find and became well known in the gemstone world.
