Carnelian is found at many localities around the world. However, the most significant are Brazil, Uruguay, Madagascar, India, Russia, the USA and Australia.

Orange carnelian is among the crystals that naturally have a deep orange colour. It is not chemically or artificially enhanced in any way. It typically occurs in the form of rough, uneven stones, which are then further shaped and worked.
