The original purpose for this braided Fireline thread was fishing. Due to its strength, you can even use smaller diameters than with other threading materials. I prefer using 0.12 thickness for most jewellery, 0.15 is enough for the heavier and more robust ones, and 0.17 can even hold a small baby :-) I’d sew earrings and light things with 0.10. Fireline doesn’t stretch, rub or get wavy like silon or nylon, it doesn't fray like, for example, Nymo, but each threading material is designed for particular jewellery pieces and each one of us will surely find their own. For me, it’s Fireline and TOHO One G.
